Director of Risk
Floorplan finance company
Our client is a well-established B2B financial company focused on providing floorplan financing for independent automotive dealers. We are seeking an experienced Director of Risk to help lead the charge. Our client is a floorplan leader who values integrity, intelligence, and an ongoing desire to improve staff skills, risk policies, procedures, and team growth. Does this align with values? The Director of Risk is responsible for risk identification and loss mitigation. As a member of the Senior Management team , our Director of Risk will significantly contribute to our risk policies and control of loan portfolio delinquency and charge-offs.
Supervisor responsibilities include:
- Lead Risk Personnel, plus collections, repossessions, workouts, and winddowns
- Ability to lead 20 personnel in Risk, Collections, and Repossessions members
Our Director of Risk requires the aptitude to be a strong strategist with the experience to be highly technical and the capability to coach, manage, and lead other team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish, oversee, and implement all risk policy
- Advisor to the President and other senior staff
- Provide oversight over all loan portfolios, monitoring them for inherent quantitative or qualitative risks that may affect company
- Lead staff and/or external consultants in one or more functions related to the design, development and implementation of risk models and strategies for account management, underwriting, collections, profitability, and customer relationship management.
- Identify and recommend appropriate risk systems; interfaces as appropriate with IT and external vendors to select.
- Collaborate and coordinate clear direction for the company's long-term growth plan using business intelligence and market feedback. Coordinate with Sales and Marketing and Finance to implement plan for effective product sales.
- Work closely with other departments in preparation of long-term vision, and regular business reviews.
Education and Experience:
A college degree is required in Finance, Mathematics or Statistics or similar
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in line management in a risk environment.
- Prior years of experience working in financial institutes, specifically in floor planning, B2B
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to statistically analyze the portfolio from a risk perspective.
- Excellent understanding of lending economics, industry trends, and key drivers of profitability
- Experience with automotive financial services B2B
- Expert skills in the area of quantitative analysis, statistical model development, and forecasting
- Financial institution, lending or banking knowledge.
- Understand pricing, product development, and credit risk
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
- MS Office products and other Risk related software
- Managerial and leadership skills.
This position is based in Indiana
