Health Care Service Corporation seeks Data Modeler at its facility located at 1001 E. Lookout Drive, Richardson, TX 75082. Responsible to collect, understand, model, document, and communicate the data requirements necessary to perform business processes, by providing data modeling and data architecture services, including data rationalization, data element standards, and collaboration with information stewards, data analysts, and stewardship facilitators. Design and develop logical relational and dimensional and meta data models for various operational system and reporting projects on a variety of mainframe and distributed platforms. Associate the business data requirements referenced in the enterprise data models during development of application specific operational and analytical data models, including participating in quality reviews and peer reviews of data modelling team deliverables. Support, follow, and execute information governance, stewardship, and management principles, policies, standards, and guidelines to promote the maturity and growth of the Information Governance and Stewardship program. Provide data architecture and data integration (of enterprise business data requirements) through the application and usage of the enterprise data models. Interact with information stewards, data analysts, and Information Governance and Stewardship facilitators to analyze data requirements and develop enterprise data models, and to align and standardize data content (through business meta data) across data repositories and reporting applications. Provide first-cut physical data models and direct support to DBAs and application development teams during the transformation from logical data models to physical data models and database designs. Follow and contribute to the development and documentation for information and data management standards and processes. Ensure adherence to enterprise information standards established by Information Governance & Stewardship (IG&S). Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies. Maintain complete confidentiality of company business. Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or a related field. Plus 3 Years of experience in Information Technology Specialist or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Development of entity-relationship diagrams; (2) Data modeling tools (CA ERwin, Embarcadero ER/Studio, or IBM Rational Rose); (3) System development lifecycle methodologies; (4) Data architecture and modeling practices and concepts (entity-relationship diagrams, normalization, abstraction, denormalization, dimensional modeling, and meta data modeling practices); (5) Generating first draft physical data models and the associated DDL from logical data models; (6) Developing data models for operational, transactional, and operational reporting, including the development of or interfacing with data analysis, data mapping, and data rationalization artifacts; (7) Enforcing data modeling standards and procedures; and (8) Web technologies, application programming languages, OLTP/OLAP technologies, data strategy disciplines, relational databases, and data warehouse development.
