Financial Analyst (Calvert, AL)

Determine and report financial status for company’s stainless steel manufacturing plants by comparing, compiling, and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results. Analyze results and variances, identifying trends and recommending actions. Manage cost center activities. Develop automated applications, eliminating duplications, coordinating information requirements. Partner with business stakeholders to prepare and consolidate Capital Expenditure proposals and present to senior management for review and approval. Partner with accounting, procurement, and operations to track construction in progress projects from initial proposal to final write-off of asset. Update finance CAPEX tracker. Collaborate with management and business partners throughout the organization to understand and monitor performance against established sourcing, manufacturing, and sales targets and to provide input and guidance on business issues and to provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues. Actively participate in the Annual Plan, Mid-year review and Latest Estimate processes by providing guidance, support, and analytics to management. Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as required for high level decision making.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree in Financial Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. Foreign equivalents accepted.

2 years experience in financial controlling, financial analysis, or related occupation.

Must include some experience with:
- Stainless steel manufacturing process from raw material procurement to melt shop production to hot rolling to cold rolling works to finishing products to the customer.
- Planning and forecasting process, target setting and management reporting.
- Hedge accounting and transactional hedges on Nickel and Peso.
- Raw materials and metal alloy prices and discount development and its financial effect on the stainless-steel industry.
- Stainless steel grades and their metals compositions and contents, metal profit understanding, alloy surcharge calculation and timing effect concepts.
- Melt pattern, yield pattern, and productions pattern.
- Financial and analytical skills related to the profit and loss statement, balance sheet statement and cash flow statement including variance analyses.
- Financial ratios and terms related to profitability and valuation.
- Sales, cost of goods sold (COGS), cost centers, function cost reporting and SG&A reporting, operating income and expenses, and financial income and expenses.
- Investment controlling, capital expenditure projects (CAPEX), operating expenses (OPEX), capex planning process, classification, categorization, and prioritization.
