POSITION SUMMARY

Ensuring the day-to-day operation of the Warehouse is carried out in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. With a high level of customer service focus. Activities include receiving, storage and distribution of materials. With the ongoing support of Maintenance and Production (the Customers) activities regarding Inventory requirements.
Reporting on all activities by Materials Management Procedures and all relevant statutory and legal requirements.
Customer liaison with key Maintenance, Planning, and Production personnel.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Drives the objectives of exceeding safety and environment targets through the application of safe work practices and housekeeping standards in every aspect of the job.
Follows and uses all supply/warehousing-related processes and procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and productive work practices.
Contributes to the continuous improvement/development of processes and procedures to improve productivity and efficiency of the warehouse, through the application of the JIGPC Business System.
Understanding of Audit and KPIs targets to ensure that these requirements are met.
Ensures the optimization of stock holdings by ensuring that Inventory is controlled in a secure and useable manner by the application of sound inventory knowledge, management, and security principles.
Controls the accurate and efficient recording of all Inventory movements in and out of the warehouse through electronic and mechanical means promptly according to customer priorities.
Ensures that physical inventory holdings match the electronic inventory management systems. Through ad-hoc and cyclical counting of all Inventory items on a regular planned basis.
Contributes to the knowledge of customers of the supply system by providing training and assistance as required.
Works semi-autonomously in a small team environment that has developed high levels of communication.
Ensures that hazardous materials are handled, stored, and transported in accordance with appropriate procedures, standards, and legislation.
Continuously seeks to improve on technical knowledge and to increase familiarity with other areas of processes
Attempts to solve/fix problems at own level with team assistance/focus.
The incumbent will brief and assist Stores, Maintenance, and Production personnel where necessary and will carry out all the work as required to meets the customers requirements.
The incumbent is required to take reasonable care of plant and equipment to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them. In addition to utilizing all Personal Protective Equipment.
The incumbent will undertake duties in accordance with standard operating and administrative procedures.SKILLS

Extensive skills in computerized stock control systems (SAP) are required.
Must have a broad computer knowledge, which includes proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Hazardous Materials Handling training.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Successful completion of Diploma as a minimum.
Above average level of verbal and written English skills as a minimum.
Above average level of problem-solving skills as a minimum.
The average level of mechanical aptitude as a minimum.
Should either currently have a License/Operating certificate to operate mobile equipment identified for use in the Warehouse or have the ability to receive one shortly after hire.
3+ years of relevant experience in chemical/refinery/gas plant maintenance/inspection/engineering.
5+ years of previous material handling experience
