Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced News Anchor to join our news broadcasting team. As a News Anchor, you will be the face of our news channel, responsible for delivering accurate and engaging news content to our viewers. Your strong on-air presence, clear articulation, and commanding delivery will captivate the audience and keep them informed about current events and breaking news stories.

Responsibilities:

1. News Presentation: Host live on-air broadcasts, delivering news content in a clear, articulate, and authoritative manner.
2. Content Preparation: Research, write, and edit news scripts to ensure accurate and compelling presentation of news stories.
3. Breaking News Coverage: Respond promptly to breaking news events and provide real-time updates to keep viewers informed.
4. Interviewing: Conduct interviews with guests, experts, and newsmakers to provide diverse perspectives on news topics.
5. Collaborate with Production Team: Work closely with the production team to coordinate visuals, graphics, and other elements to enhance the presentation of news stories.
6. Editorial Standards: Adhere to the highest ethical and journalistic standards, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and impartiality in news reporting.
7. Engage with Audience: Interact with viewers through social media and other platforms to foster audience engagement and feedback.
8. Stay Informed: Keep abreast of current events, national and international news, and trends to provide insightful commentary and analysis.
9. Crisis Management: Handle sensitive and challenging news situations with composure and sensitivity.
10. Time Management: Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and ensure a seamless flow of news broadcasts.

Requirements:

1. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a News Anchor in a reputable news channel or media organization.
2. Communication Skills: Excellent command over the language, with a clear and captivating on-air presence.
3. News Judgment: Strong news sense and the ability to prioritize and present news stories based on their relevance and impact.
4. Adaptability: Able to adapt quickly to changing news situations and remain composed under pressure.
5. Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold journalistic integrity at all times.
6. Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, to cover 24/7 news cycles.
7. Confidence: Display confidence and ease in front of the camera, with the ability to engage viewers effectively.
8. Team Player: Collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively with producers, reporters, and other team members.
9. Educational Qualification: A degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field is preferred.
10. Portfolio: Provide a showreel or samples of previous on-air work.
