MUST HAVE WASTE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE




Facility Maintenance and Reliability


Join our team as the Director of Facility Maintenance and Reliability, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our hazardous waste incineration facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you'll oversee Maintenance, Outage Planning, and Reliability staff, providing strategic leadership and direction to drive optimal plant performance.


Responsibilities:



  1. Lead turnaround activities, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, procurement, and execution, optimizing cost-effectiveness.

  2. Manage a diverse team of maintenance professionals and subcontractors, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

  3. Collaborate with Operations management to enforce safe work practices and ensure technical integrity during daily facility operations.

  4. Develop contingency plans to mitigate financial impacts during equipment failures or plant shutdowns, efficiently allocating resources.

  5. Conduct field inspections to monitor work progress, ensuring adherence to quality standards and conducting QA QC checks.

  6. Implement Reliability Based Management strategies to maximize uptime of the incinerator complex, evaluating risk-based reliability activities.

  7. Oversee the CMMS program to uphold best practices and ensure compliance with corporate standards.

  8. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding project initiatives and ongoing operations.

  9. Develop and manage departmental budgets, optimizing costs related to maintenance activities and purchases.

  10. Establish and maintain QA testing and validation requirements for equipment, ensuring optimal performance.

  11. Implement maintenance procedures and training programs to enhance employee skills and equipment troubleshooting capabilities.

  12. Interface with customers and regulatory bodies during facility audits and inspections.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the hazardous waste industry or large utility/industrial plant operations.

  • Proven track record in high-reliability environments or plant operations.

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical methodologies, data analysis, and improvement evaluation.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P-6 scheduling tool.

  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques, including Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).

  • Budgeting skills and financial analysis proficiency.

  • Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining equipment common to large industrial facilities.

  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis methodologies.
