Salesforce Inc. seeks Software Engineering SMTS in San Francisco, CA:

Job Duties: Maintain high availability of a large fleet of clusters running various technologies, such as Kubernetes, Docker, software load balancers, ZooKeeper, service mesh, and Istio. Troubleshoot real production issues to expand knowledge on the architecture of Kubernetes ecosystem services and internals. Contribute code to drive improvement. Drive automation efforts in Python/Golang/Puppet/Jenkins to eliminate manual work with day-to-day operations. Drive improvements to CI/CD pipelines built on Terraform, Spinnaker, and Argo. Improve the visibility of the platform by implementing necessary monitoring and metrics with Prometheus, Grafana, and other monitoring frameworks. Implement self-healing mechanisms to proactively fix issues to reduce manual labor. Collaborate with various other Infrastructure teams across Salesforce and interact with a highly innovative and creative team of developers and architects. Evaluate new technologies to solve problems, as needed. ˆHQ address additionally encompasses the following Salesforce locations in San Francisco: 350 Mission Street, 415 Mission Street, and 50 Fremont Street. The permanent position may be offered at any of these locations in San Francisco. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the field of software engineering/program analysis or two (2) years of experience in the job offered OR Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of software engineering/program analysis or five (5) years of experience in the job offered.

A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field)).

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Linux (2 years) or Unix Administration; (2) Python (2 years); (3) Shell Scripting (2 years); (4) Ansible (2 years); (5) Jenkins; (6) AWS (2 years); (7) Github (2 years); (8) Kubernetes (2 years); (9) Docker (2 years); and (10) Terraform. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.

Salary: $170,955.00 - $227,700.00 per annum.
