Job Title: Senior Embedded Solutions Engineer

Job Duties:

1. Lead hardware-software integration projects for new products, subsystems and components, with a focus on embedded system development involving real-time operating systems, wireless communication, and interface with advanced peripheral devices.
2. Interface with a cross-functional team consisting of mechanical, electrical, systems and software engineering, as well as with the Portfolio Development and other teams.
3. Perform innovation and design for new technologies, systems, and products.
4. Ensure that a healthy, safe, secure, and environmentally conscious work environment is maintained at all times and by all staff in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Travel up to 10% of the year world wide.

Position Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline and 2 years of experience performing embedded Linux development, including kernel configuration, driver integration, and building custom root file systems.

Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:

1. 2 years of experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS), including experience with FreeRTOS and/or QNX, for developing multitasking and multithreaded applications.
2. 2 years of experience working with microcontroller/microprocessors with in-depth knowledge of latest architectures, particularly ARM Cortex-M series and Intel/AMD processors.
3. 2 years of experience developing peripheral interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, and USB, including implementing custom communication protocols and device drivers.
4. 2 years of experience utilizing low-power design techniques and energy-efficient coding practices for battery-powered devices.
5. 2 years of experience utilizing hardware description languages (HDLs) such as VHDL or Verilog for FPGA-based embedded systems development.
6. 2 years of experience working with wireless communication protocols, such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Zigbee, or LoRa, and integrating them into embedded systems.
7. 2 years of experience performing stakeholder management and customer interface, including providing technical support to non-technical people.
8. 2 years of experience using testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital logic analyzers, debuggers, and protocol analyzers.
9. 2 years of experience applying firmware security principles and best practices, as well as applying knowledge of safety-critical systems.
10. 2 years of experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
