We are currently seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Speech Language Pathologist for a school based position in the central Washington State area. Position offers a Sign-on Bonus, competitive compensation, great benefits, extensive paid time off, and more!

Job Responsibilities



' Develop treatment plans to assist patients with speech problems such as delayed language, inappropriate pitch, stuttering, swallowing disorders or harsh voice problems. Treatment plans should be based on your own assessments as well as recommendations from social workers, physicians and psychologists.

' Assess patient needs and adjust treatments in accordance with patient progression.

' Evaluate language, speech or hearing test results as well as medical information and barium swallow results to diagnose and develop a treatment plan for swallowing, fluency, language, speech and voice disorders.

' Document information and write reports with details regarding patient billing, insurance, evaluations, progress, treatment and discharge of clients.

' Develop school programs or activities for individuals and/or groups to deal with language, swallowing, behavior and speech problems.

' Teach clients proper techniques for achieving more effective communication, such as lip reading, voice improvement and sign language.

' Instruct patients on how to strengthen the muscles of the face, tongue and jaw to facilitate improved speech.

' Refer clients when appropriate to additional educational or medical services.



Job Skills & Qualifications



Required



' Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders. Master's Degree Preferred. 

' Current state license or teach certification (or eligible).

' Experience with Microsoft Suite

' Capable of performing essential job functions



Preferred


  • ' Experience with pediatric, autistic and developmentally disabled clients
