If this sounds like you, we have an excellent opportunity at a great reverse logistics company here in Rhode Island. This role reports to an Accounting Manager with a dotted line to the Controller.

 



The Junior Staff Accountant position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and the ability to think analytically. As the Junior Staff Accountant, you will be required to assist the Accounting Manager with the operating activities within the Accounting department. This position will also be responsible for the integrity of several significant Balance Sheet accounts, AP workflows, overhead analyses, and maintaining overall general ledger integrity in compliance with GAAP.

 



Role and Responsibilities:




  • Responsible for all AP functions including monitoring AP email box, coding, batching, and entering AP invoices.

  • Follow up with vendors about payments and/or questions.

  • Manage freight bills with a 3rd party to confirm expenses are recorded properly.

  • Ensure vendors are paid in a timely fashion making sure advances and credits are applied properly.

  • Monitor payment requests and prepare wires to be sent out.

  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

  • Maintain prepaid and CIP schedules.

  • Prepare monthly accruals for unposted invoices.

  • Process T&E reports and report on employee spending.

  • Cash flow reporting.

  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.

  • Work on various projects as needed.



Skills and Experience:




  • Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in either accounting or finance.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in an accounting role.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to communicate requests from the business teams in a timely and professional manner.

  • Solid system skills required including Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables), ERP packages (Great Plains would be awesome), PowerPoint, and BI reporting tools.

  • Sharepoint experience would be really awesome.
