Role: Oracle Database Administrator



Location: Mechanicsburg, PA



Job type: Fulltime



Job Description:



· Creates, implements and manages expansive database administration programs.



· Participates in the design, maintenance, enhancement, coding, and administration of relational databases



· Analyzes and determines information needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities



· Coordinates new data development ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure.



· Reviews business requests for data and data usage, researches data sources for new and better data feeds



· Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions.



· Solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity



· Performs work without need for direct supervision



· Makes sound decisions that achieve critical organizational objectives



· Can function in project leadership roles and represent Vidoori as the prime customer contact on significant technical matters



· Participates in client/project meeting(s) for highly complex project definition, needs assessment and design review. Evaluates the needs and requirements of the users and provides technical expertise in the development of technical, structural and organizational specifications. Determine appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization.



· Designs, develops and integrates highly complex database systems for internal and external users/clients.



· Creates, documents and implements standards and/or complex modeling to monitor and enhance the capacity and performance of the database. Codes complex programs and derives logical processes on technical platforms.



· Performs complex analyses and reviews applications being released into production.



· Prepares recommendations and presentation to management.



 



Required skills:



Must have:



· Working knowledge and experience with Oracle, 11g and/or 12c



· Working knowledge of account administration and user management in Oracle



· Working knowledge of database backup, recovery, and security.



· Working knowledge of database concept such as procedures, functions, views, keys, and indexes.



· Working knowledge in designing, creating and debugging stored procedures.



· Working knowledge of reviewing database performance trends and identifying opportunities for improvement



· Work directly with databases to verify data using SQL queries.



· Working knowledge with enterprise-level test automation frameworks



· Working knowledge of OEM and other oracle monitoring tools



· Working knowledge of database tuning.



· Working knowledge with maintenance of a distributed Oracle Database System



· Working knowledge with Oracle Middleware Administration



· Familiarity with Oracle Data Guard



· Familiarity in database version upgrade efforts from 11g to 12c.



· Familiarity in Oracle Exadata platform



· General knowledge of system design, analysis, requirements gathering



 



Preferred skills:



· Experience supporting the Department of the Navy or other DoD projects



· Experience/familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
