Disaster Debris Monitor



2 Positions Available: Texas and Louisiana - IMMEDIATE NEED!!!!!!


 



Successful candidates will be trained and will work as part of a team accurately monitoring and documenting the debris collection and removal activities. Debris Monitors work in a busy environment that includes working around heavy equipment and debris removal vehicles. The primary role of a debris monitor is to document debris removal activities using load tickets which record FEMA required data. You must maintain the highest standards of professionalism, respect, and sensitivity to the tragic loss of life and personal property resulting from recent extreme weather-related disaster.



Primary job duties of the position are as follows:




  • Ensure that only eligible storm debris is removed, loaded, and hauled;

  • Interface with contractors and crew in the field and report to the Field Supervisor;

  • Record information on each load ticket (Monitor may also be trained and expected to operate an automated handheld device to record information);

  • Ensure that debris loads are properly contained in the loading container;

  • Ability and willingness to comply with safety requirements;

  • Record and report any damage resulting from debris removal operations.



The following are minimum required skills:




  • Effective written and oral communication;

  • Attention to detail when completing debris documentation;

  • Ability to learn and follow instructions;

  • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.



Qualifications:




  • Must be at least 18 years of age;

  • Must have high school diploma, GED, or equivalent;

  • Strong work ethic (reliable, dependable, honest);

  • Must have the ability to work in the outside elements for long periods of time;

  • Ability to work long hours (12 hours per day, 7 days a week) for 60+ days;

  • Ability to safely climb ladders and stairs;

  • Must have a valid driver's license, safe driving history, and your own dependable vehicle;

  • Must have current automobile insurance coverage;

  • Must be able to travel to various work locations within the recovery area;

  • Must have your own cell phone with a car charger for onsite use;

  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening;

  • Must live local to project area, no compensation offered for travel or lodging;

  • Favorable criminal background investigation results;

  • Provide proof of citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
