JOB DESCR:
L3Harris is seeking talented embedded software engineers to join our team! The Software Engineer will be involved in design, development, integration and test of embedded applications for Avionics and Aircraft Systems. Technologies utilized by the systems include C/C++ on various embedded platforms including Linux.
Job Responsibilities include the following:
Software development activity including requirements analysis, design, code development, integration and test of embedded applications for aircraft avionics and mission related systems
Technologies utilized by the systems include C/C++ on various embedded platforms including Linux
Perform activities to ensure that products/projects delivered meet customer requirements and specifications including airworthiness
Provide technical support during debug and troubleshooting of integration issues
Communicate with leadership on project status, issues, milestones, and successes
Bachelor's degree (BSCEN, BSEE, BSCS or eq.) + 6 years relevant experience, or similar Graduate Degree with 4 years relevant experience.
Knowledge of code languages including expertise in C/C++ or other object-oriented language
At least 4 years of development experience programming embedded systems including experience with embedded Linux or other RTOS, Linux device drivers, Real-time/Low-level software, Bootloaders, BSPs, Built-In-Test, Flash Devices and drivers for peripherals such as Ethernet, PCIe, USB, SPI, I2C
Knowledge of low level debug/board bring up utilizing lab equipment
Expert knowledge of embedded software fundamentals and the ability to code, integrate, and troubleshoot complex safety critical designs
Experience interacting with customers throughout the software lifecycle including major design and/or architecture reviews
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on complex systems with a focus on mission computing, memory systems, and/or avionics displays
Knowledge of graphics APIs and drivers including OpenGL or Vulcan
Experience with 1394/Fiber Channel/1553 driver development
Experience with DO-178 software development process
Relevant integration and test experience on complex military systems
Working knowledge of interfaces and handoffs with digital engineering (FPGAs, CCAs, PWBs, etc.)
Full software development lifecycle experience including requirements flow-down and decomposition, allocation to design, translation to code, hw/sw integration, design verification/product qual, transition to production, fielded product support, including changes for component obsolescence.
Utilizing tools/processes to support a structured work flow (requirements management, configuration management, workflow and change control, etc)
Familiarity with Linux development environment and tools.
Secret security clearance
Ability to travel up to 25%
