Registered Nurse RN, Chronic Dialysis
Sioux Falls, SD 57117
Length of Assignment: 8 Weeks
Shift:
- Variable shifts.
- Hours are 5:30 -1800 or 0600 to 1830 with the possibility of four 10 hour shifts of 5:30-1600 or 6:00-1630. Every other weekend (Fri/Sat) and if desired every weekend (Fri/Sat). Outpatient only.
- 36 guaranteed/40 scheduled.
Floating to over units/departments: Possibly to Acute dialysis
Required Experience:
3+ years dialysis experience
1 year travel experience (Strongly preferred).
Licenses/Certifications:
- BLS.
- Dialysis certification preferred.
General Responisbilities:
- About 3 days of orientation to include computer classes and independent computer based training and orientation to the unit.
- Initiation and discontinuation of dialysis via fistula, graft or central line. Assessment of patient , CL dressing changes, medication administration, and monitoring of the patients treatments.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept:
- B Braun dialysis machines mostly. Could be some Fresenius machines if go to Acutes. EPIC for charting. Accudose for meds.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept: 19 stations
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only):
- 4-7 patients at a time. Approximately 15 pts/day. Work closely with at Tech also.
