Dent Education is seeking to hire a Curriculum & Program Manager to design curriculum, manage and launch student programs, and develop our program pipeline. Dent programs empower Baltimore teens to be creative problem solvers, makers, and entrepreneurs. Whether it's using a laser cutter to build custom jewelry, using Adobe Illustrator to design a flyer for a local business, or using a digital audio workstation to produce a podcast or song, Denters experience their ability to dream up an idea and turn it into real impact. They apply design thinking to understand needs, brainstorm solutions, and launch real ventures. We believe in economic empowerment as a means to promote equity and agency; Denters earn money or receive funding in all of our programs.  Our goal is for students to realize their potential to make a dent in the universe, achieve upward mobility, and live with agency.

You will:

  • Design and teach curriculum

    • Create curricular materials, lesson plans, program roadmaps, track syllabi, and supports that are culturally-relevant, challenging, and compelling to students and easy-to-use for coaches.

      • We have a deep understanding of what we teach; you will help us design the how.

    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to operationalize programs

    • Organize all curriculum materials and resources into an easy-to-navigate system

    • Seek feedback routinely from students, coaches, partners, and families

    • Train Coaches and Fellows to implement Dent curriculum

    • Launch and prototype new programs

    • Manage and recruit the students and staff to run school-year programs

    • Build relationships with and guide students as they create, develop Mindsets, and grow ventures

  • Build out pipeline of programs for Denters over the years

    • Develop the pipeline of programs, engagement, and opportunities for a Denter from 8th grade through 5 years post-high school

    • Co-create a system for impact measurement of each program over time

  • Adapt as needed to improve student outcomes

    • As an early stage social enterprise, your role will flex with Dent’s needs and your capabilities

You are:

  • Organized, a backwards planner, and able to craft clarity

  • Curious about how our students learn and what motivates them

  • Unwavering in your belief in each student’s potential

  • Passionate about Dent’s mission, mindsets, and commitment to equity

  • An optimistic self-starter who is comfortable owning projects and pivoting when needed

  • Resilient in the face of adversity with an ability to troubleshoot when problems arise

  • Able to give & receive direct feedback

Bonus Points for Applicants who:

  • At least two years of experience in teaching, curriculum creation, and/or youth development

  • Have a relevant Master’s Degree

  • Are from Baltimore and/or possess a strong awareness of the city’s social and cultural landscape

  • Have experience leading projects that intentionally promote equity, social justice, and racial justice

  • Have experience teaching design thinking and/or entrepreneurship

  • Have taught or launched a project relevant to the skills taught in our 6 tracks

You’ll get:

  • To build meaningful relationships with youth and join them on a journey of self-exploration and growth

  • To join and shape a mission-driven startup with a talented and motivated team

  • To develop as an educator, curriculum designer, design thinker, maker, innovator, manager, and entrepreneur
