  • Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

  • Confer with engineering, quality control, manufacturing, and other departments to provide technical support and recommend and incorporate engineer design changes to help reduce cost and increase production.

  • Investigate and carefully inspect defective or damaged parts to engineering design to determine nature and scope of problem.

  • Initiate root cause analysis and implement corrective actions, and where applicable, initiate mistake proofing.

  • Review engineering specifications to maintain knowledge of manufacturing methods, processes and activities.

  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.

  • Design both simple and complex tools, gauges, and fixtures to support production, and provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Develop and deliver production workstations, assembly and test fixtures, tools, and procedures.

  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions, and apply statistical methods to evaluate equipment reliability to ensure process control.


 


  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling, 2D drafting, FEA structural simulation, and flow simulation.

  • Hands on experience with machining, fabrication, and plastics with an understanding of product development cycle, from concept to market.

  • Strong analytical skills balanced with creativity and innovation with knowledge in tolerance analysis and fluids dynamics.

  •  Strong effective communicator both verbal and written, and ability to work in a fast pace environment of constant change.

  • Self-directed individual who works well within a team environment.


 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Technology

  • 5 years of previous engineering experience.
