Become a part of our renowned E2 Young Engineers program in Warren, NJ and neighboring towns!!!
e² Young Engineer program – A well respected after school LEGO-based activity aimed at elementary and middle school children, teaching the importance of science.
In our proprietary programs, we use motorized LEGO® parts to teach STEM. In each lesson, we teach theories that are related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our students understand these theories through building our exclusive motorized LEGO® bricks models. Our Young Engineers leave our courses with a sense of achievement, and with the tools to maximize their everyday education.
We offer a variety of enrichment programs including Robo Bricks, Algoplay, Bricks Challenge that provide an engaging, hands-on experimental learning experience to children. Our programs utilize problem-based learning and built upon the spiral learning method in a manner that sparks imagination and critical thinking.
Our training includes teaching you all the materials we would like you to pass on to our students, in addition to building the models.
Job Responsibilities:
- Job duties will include setting up class materials and kits, explain key STEM concepts to students, answer student questions while maintaining student interest and attention.
- Maintaining and transporting class equipment and materials including tablets and kits.
- Teach an average of 2 to 5 classes weekly, usually 60-90mins long. A typical class: 10-12 students
- Represent E2 Young Engineers values at any point of contact with families and prospective students
Requirements:
- Must love working with children and have a passion for teaching
- Must be dependable, responsible and should have excellent communication skills.
- Must be comfortable teaching young kids and be open to learning unique teaching methods.
- Be available during the school year anywhere from 2 -5 days per week (between 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.) on weekdays and between 9:00 am-1:00 pm on weekends.
- Have a reliable means of transportation to class locations.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check
Desired Experience:
- Teaching / Instructing (summer camps, daycare, after school programs)
- Robotics (LEGO specific or otherwise)
- STEM topics conceptual knowledge
- Prior experience of teaching STEM programs preferred
Available immediately
Job Type: Part-time
Wage: 18-22$ / hour
