Position: Environmental Health Specialist (For Food Manufacturing Plant)
For Food Manufacturing Plant (working in the Quality Control Department )

Location: Los Angeles County, CA

Starting Salary: 35,000 to $37,440
Hours: Monday thru Friday (7:00 am to 3:30 pm)
Keys to hire:
- Looking for someone who has at least 2-4 years working in a Food Manufacturing Plant
- Experience with USDA and FDA programs and policies
- MUST be Bilingual English / Spanish Speaking
- Open to learn or experience with new hire safety and GMP on-boarding.
- Familiar with Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s)
Responsibilities: ( You can have SOME or all of the below responsibilities, we will train )
- Works directly with plant leadership to ensure facility monthly GMP and safety inspections are being completed. Makes recommendations to remedy noted deficiencies.
- Team with supervisors and managers to lead plant wide safety initiatives.
- Maintains facility training calendar and ensures training records are maintained per OSHA requirements. Facilitates applicable internal facility safety training using appropriate training materials (hands-on, PowerPoint, props, etc) as scheduled.
- Conduct EHS training
- Maintains and updates written Quality Programs and GMP policies aligned with USDA and FDA.
- - Promotes a positive safety and GMP culture by developing and creating documents in Microsoft word, excel, power point to support positive employee communications & data delivery such as posters, mailings, and news regarding safety. - Serve as co-chair for plant safety committee meetings.
- Facilitate new hire safety and GMP on-boarding.
- Oversee the site waste management including inspecting, moving, coordinating, tracking, appropriately monitoring, documenting and reporting hazardous, non-hazardous, universal waste and bio-hazardous waste shipments
- Complete all training requirements and maintaining 100% compliance with all assignments.
- Assist with emergency response and preparedness and assist in all aspects of incident management
- Coordinate sampling, analysis, and permit compliance reports and permit renewals for submission to regulatory agencies, including air, storm water and waste water programs and hazardous substances
- Assist with QC Auditing Internal Programs (HACCP temperature monitoring, Environmental Swabbing, Recipe audits, Thermometer and Scales calibrations, Product Sampling, Weights and Measures calibration, First Article check).
- Ensure chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s), along with the site emergency response plans and reports, are current and accurate and prepares necessary regulatory.
