Job Description



DSPs start at $12/hr. and earn $.50 pay increase at 3mo, 6mo, 12mo, 18mo, and 2yr. In addition to great PTO, we also offer employees the ability to get paid daily through PayActiv service! T.C. Harris is 100% employee-owned!

You will:




  • Be a part of a close-knit team that provides therapeutic and educational services to kids and teens with severe developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances.

  • Supervise students in their daily living activities.

  • Ensure students and your peers have the support they need to thrive.

RESPONSIBILITIES



To succeed in this role, you must show an understanding of the emotional and developmental disabilities of the people you serve. You will be trained to use proper interventions and approaches while helping our students with their daily needs.



As a direct support professional, you will:




  • Ensuring appropriate supervision of the students in the program.

  • Maintaining the required ratio for coverage.

  • Communicating information necessary for staff to maintain a consistent, therapeutic environment for the students.

  • Completing other tasks and projects related to the operations of the program.

  • and other documentation



REQUIREMENTS



To be considered for this job, you must meet the following requirements:




  • Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. A college degree in a human services field is preferred.

  • Have a valid Indiana driver’s license

  • Have demonstrated skill and/or potential in working directly with mentally handicapped and/or emotionally disturbed students

  • Supervisory experience or training is a plus

  • Be at least 21 years old
