Job Description:

Under close supervision of the Registered Nurse, participates in the assessment, intervention, planning and evaluation of patient-centered needs based on patient behaviors. Performs direct patient care tasks in accordance with treatment plan and under direction of a professional nurse. Assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures. Perform duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of ATC Healthcare Services and any applicable Federal, State, and/or regulatory statutes/guidelines.

Skills/Abilities:

•   Must have interpersonal skills to establish therapeutic relationships with emotionally disturbed 

      and/or chemically dependent patients.

•   Communicate and work effectively with client patients and staff.

•   Knowledge of basic patient care, procedures and techniques generally acquired through Facility- 

      provided orientation usually lasting one week.

•   Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to 

      the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.



Mental Health Technician ( MHT ) 

•    A successful candidate must have at least 6 months of behavioral health experience and/or 

        equivalent education 

•    BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association ( AHA ) 

•    Must have 2 recent references

•    Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

•    Must have demonstrated leadership qualities for team building

•    Must be able to pass ALL required health and other screening tests
