POSITION SUMMARY


This position is responsible for managing plant Maintenance personnel, activities and budget across the plants and companies in their respective Mechanical section. Responsibilities include Safety performance, driving CI, equipment integrity, reliability, cost, and on-stream factors to minimize impact to business continuity.

Principal responsibility for providing functional leadership, budgeting, managing and controlling plant maintenance costs, CONC (Cost of Non-Conformance) cost and impact to plant operating budgets, while satisfying business justified reliability objectives and corporate EH&S goals.

This position is responsible for implementing cost effective maintenance activity to ensure consistent application of global engineering standards, procedures, maintenance best practices, maintenance training, computerized maintenance management systems SAP system, and various established work processes. Compliance to Process Safety standards and local regulatory requirements are key for this role.

Responsible for providing input to Area maintenance manager for performance management of all team members in their area.

The incumbent will work closely with all operations line management and plant management, business management, and regional functional engineering leadership, to ensure alignment and effective coordination of resources.

The incumbent should possess a minimum Diploma or bachelors degree (additional preference) in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5-10 years of related maintenance and or project management experience in the industrial gas, chemical, refining and or related industry. Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills are critical to the position.

The incumbent must have the ability to function with independent supervision and possess effective communication (verbal / written in English as well as local language).





Purpose


To plan and to functionally manage and develop the Maintenance organization. To cost effectively manage routine, major, minor maintenance, turnaround activity and coordinate resource sharing across the area.

Supervisor is also accountable to facilitate immediate response for 24/7, 365 technical supports to operating plants to ensure reliable operations.

Accountable for coordination, mobilize and secure resources support. This position manages technical support to all functions operations, process, HV electrical, controls and instrumentation, pressure system, machinery, mechanical integrity and other related technologies.



Nature and Scope


This position reports to the Area Maintenance Manager. This position has technicians who are functional reports based on geography of area in operation. This position provides operations and technical services for all business segments and technologies including TGEE & Merchant Gases, HyCo, Cryogenics as integral part of the AP Global Support Services Team.

An important accountability and responsibility of this position is the safety of all personnel.
Coach, teach and enforce AP safety policies / procedures. Explain AP safety standards, define
and implement Safety improvement plans, conduct safety audits, and in general leads in
building the AP safety culture. This applies to both AP and JV facilities in their area.

This position is responsible for planning, arranging and coordination, procurement of resources from outside their direct span of control to complete works needs in their area.

The position also assigns and manages resources to new project commissioning activities in support of GEMTE, and small project in plants for PPO.

Operations productivity, reliability, quality, and cost effectiveness are very important responsibilities of this position.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for driving continuous improvement in safety performance, maintenance costs, reliability, and cost of quality goals. Actively participate in Air Products safety programs, promote, and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping methods.
Identifying, communicating, implementing, and maintaining best practices and procedures.
Manage KPIs to measure maintenance performance and improve effectiveness.
Ensuring application and compliance with all training, procedures, standards, specifications, federal codes, and statutory requirements.
Responsible for implementing engineering requirements to satisfy mechanical integrity and reliability initiatives.
Continually evaluating maintenance methodologies, preventative/predictive programs, work practices, etc., to improve equipment integrity, reliability, and reduce operational costs.
Fostering and supporting positive working relationships at plant levels and regions with internal and external customers. Promote resource sharing across the organization.
Facilitate immediate response 24 / 7, 365 reliable and safe operations to all assets.
Rapid response and correction of regular and unplanned maintenance to prevent business loss.
Compliance to MI and Statutory programs.
Preparation and management of maintenance budgets for all plants and companies.
Problem solving, diagnostics, troubleshooting initiatives are part of this accountability.



REQUIREMENTS:


This position requires an individual with good leadership abilities coupled with excellent, broad based technical skills. Previously demonstrated / proven, strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills in English and local language are requirements of the position.
