Develop and design technology-based curriculum materials that fulfill the State of Florida's standards and the charter school’s college prep math and science-based curricula. Responsible for conferring with charter school administrators, members of educational committees, and advisory groups to obtain knowledge of subject areas, and to relate curriculum materials and new technologies to specific subjects, individual student needs, and occupational areas. Present and make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options and will define instructional, learning, and performance objectives in order to maintain the school’s current educational standards as a High Performing Charter School. Provide analytical support for the design and development of technology-based training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, and coursework standards. Outline the curriculum concepts defining content delivery, assessments, accompanying materials, and complementary learning approaches. Identify, research, evaluate, and prepare recommendations to school administrators on curriculum materials and appropriate software or hardware resources needed. Recommend the purchase of instructional materials, supplies, equipment, visual aids, and other assistive technology products designed to meet student educational needs and the school’s standards. Conduct, and coordinate teacher training programs and conferences dealing with new classroom procedures to promote technology integration across the charter school’s curriculum to fulfill the school’s philosophy as expressed in the school charter. Build capacity of individual staff members to effectively use and integrate computer technology and observe the work of the teaching staff in order to evaluate their performance and use of technology- based curriculum materials. Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the technology-based curriculum materials by evaluating a combination of factors including student learning, knowledge transfer, content retention, and satisfaction. May instruct up to two classes per semester at middle school level in computer science to students to build proficiency in computer systems and emerging technologies.
Requires 5 years of teaching experience at middle or high school level. Stated experience must include at least 3 years of experience as a computer science teacher in a charter school environment. Must have a valid educator certificate in computer science.
Requires a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Education, Technology Education, or related field.
