Position Description:

Documents and supports the redesign of systems, and implements technical solutions using programming languages -- SQL. Builds an investment platform to host curated data for select investment products and serve multiple business units across multiple channels. Delivers sophisticated technology solutions and systems on cloud platforms and with Oracle databases. Develops, documents and revises system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. Provides analysis leadership on complex systems analysis projects, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization. Consults with business users to develop recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.



Primary Responsibilities:

Leads and conducts interviews with business users to gather requirements, and analyzes technology needs and system and workflow challenges.
Develops recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems analysis projects, and defines project scope.
Leads other analysts in the execution of documents on large and complex projects and monitors the quality and progress of documents created by other analysts.
Designs new systems based on requirements.
Leads and participates in the definition of test strategies, and coordinates user acceptance testing efforts.
Communicates progress of multiple projects to management, engages stakeholders on a regular basis, and manages expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
Serves as industry subject matter expert, and identifies other subject matter experts who are the sources of requirements for large and complex projects.
Works with other teams to evolve standards and best practices for systems analysis processes.
Participates in incident/crisis management to assess business impact, determine/facilitate any workarounds, in concert with the production support organization.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies.
Coaches and mentors junior product analysts and developers on systems analysis techniques and business workflows.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) documenting and supporting the redesign of systems implementing technical solutions using programming languages -- SQL.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) documenting and supporting the redesign of systems implementing technical solutions using programming languages -- SQL.



Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing full-stack systems analysis and design -- gathering requirements and documentation, and performing data mining and functional design; and analyzing system dependencies for Angular JS based User Interfaces (UIs), Java Web services, backend Oracle databases, data warehouses, and Mainframe systems using SQL and DB2 queries, PL/SQL blocks, RESTful APIs, and Informatica.


DE performing system analysis and designing business reports solutions using Power BI, SQL queries, and stores procedures.


DE performing project scope planning and systems analysis -- creating technical system documentation and performing requirements elicitation, design, development, quality assurance testing, and production rollout of high-scale, secure customer-facing websites -- according to Agile methodologies, using Enterprise Jira, Microsoft Visio, SQL Developer, Splunk, and Datadog.
