Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the following:
1. Build and maintain HubSpot’s Sandboxes services leveraging Java, DropWizard, Kafka, and MySQL;
2. Update and maintain monitoring and alerting services for Sandboxes and participate in on-call rotations to address outages impacting our customers;
3. Review pull-requests and designs from other Sandboxes team members;
4. Propose and execute on the product roadmap for Sandboxes in collaboration with product leadership;
5. Assist other product engineers at HubSpot on their usage of sandboxes for new data types, working with other teams to understand emerging use cases and develop/enhance libraries supporting these use cases;
6. Consider the overall software system, and make thoughtful software design decisions with reliability, maintainability, usability, readability, performance, and scalability of the overall solution in mind; and
7. Investigate and resolve customer issues and address the proximate cause of customer issues to maintain system stability.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Employer requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and one (1) year of experience as a software developer or related occupation. In addition, employer also
requires:
1. Demonstrated ability designing software to solve for complex business requirements gained through one (1) year of work experience;
2. Demonstrated ability utilizing MySQL, HBase, and Kafka gained through one (1) year of work experience; and
3. Demonstrated ability working with Java and the DropWizard framework gained through one (1) year of work experience.

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
