Sr. Site Reliability Engineer – aPriori Technologies, Inc. (Concord, MA – REMOTE)

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our application developers by providing expert guidance on infrastructure usage. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and administering the cloud architecture to ensure reliability and ease of use for our Application and Core development teams. As a key member of our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement and work to enhance the developer experience using industry-leading tools. You will act as a technical leader and guide other team members in the successful completion of technical initiatives, while also contributing to patterns, best practices, and strategies for continuous integration, platform development and deployment pipelines for a variety of architectures. As a reliability and infrastructure engineer, you will work with senior cross-functional teams prototyping, evaluating tools for new initiatives such as data analytics platforms, observability solutions and/or cloud specific solution architectures. As an infrastructure engineer helping aPriori modernize its cloud offering, you are expected to come with understanding and troubleshoot traditional infrastructure and operating systems. The specific duties and responsibilities include:

• As a member of a software development team, work to build team capabilities that improve velocity and ensure quality of customer applications and services in aPriori’s Cloud.
• Solve complex problems that require creativity and collaboration to find the right solution for aPriori.
• Enhance the developer experience through Platform development using best-in-class tools to develop APIs for Infrastructure services.
• Define, evangelize, and maintain SRE best practices across aPriori products.
• Collaboratively participate with team members to identify areas for improvement and design solutions.
• Participate with Architects and product development teams to build reliable cloud-native solutions providing guidance in selecting appropriate cloud architecture and tooling for specific business needs.
• Facilitate seamless migration to cloud-native architectures applying knowledge of networking and operating systems while considering application compatibility, data transfer, and system optimization.
• Identify and lead opportunities to improve automation for the company; scoping and building automation for deployment, management, and visibility of our services.
• Provide guidance and expertise for infrastructure usage to application developers considering cross-cutting concerns including security, observability, and cost.
• Teach and mentor development teams to become more self-sufficient and collaborate to improve processes such application monitoring (APM) solutions.
• Contribute to cloud architecture; design, development, and administration to ensure reliability and ease of use for our development teams.
• Contribute and create the definition of patterns, best practices, and strategies for continuous integration, infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management (CM) and managing modern DevOps toolchains.

A qualified candidate will have a Master’s degree (or a foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Systems/Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical followed by three (3) years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Application Architect, Software Engineer, Applications Developer/Engineer, or a closely related position building cloud solutions, optimizing to provide actionable insights and dashboards using a variety of monitoring and observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack. The experience, which may have been gained concurrently, must have included:

• Three (3) years of designing and developing enterprise-level applications with full-stack proficiency, utilizing Python, Java, React, relational databases (MySQL and PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and in-memory data stores (Redis and MemCache).
• Three (3) years of hands-on experience in cloud solution architecture, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including executing successful migration projects across multiple cloud platforms by identifying the optimal tools tailored to the specific business needs of organization.
• Three (3) years of experience utilizing infrastructure automation (IaC), continuous integration and continuous deployments tools and processes, including, specifically, Helm, Terraform, Amazon Cloud Development Kit (CDK), Jenkins, GitOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and Shell Scripting (for Windows and Linux).
• Two (2) years of experience administering, configuring and maintaining Linux OS systems, including specifically diagnosing and troubleshooting at application and system levels using GDB, Strace, dmesg, and Java profiling tools.
• Two (2) years of experience in design, implementation, and optimization of SLI and SLO metrics, developing comprehensive APM strategies, build intuitive dashboards (QuickSight, CloudWatch, New Relic, and DataDog), and configure alerting systems (OpsGenie, PagerDuty) that enable organizations to maintain high service availability and performance.
• Two (2) years of experience architecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) solutions to enterprise companies who are rapidly expanding into the cloud.

This is a remote position that can be performed from anywhere within the United States. There is otherwise no specific travel requirement.
