Overview:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced IT Digital Manufacturing Director to lead our global program for implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Plant Maintenance solutions. This strategic role is critical in driving our digital transformation efforts, enhancing our manufacturing efficiency, and ensuring operational excellence across all global facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale IT projects in the manufacturing sector, with a deep understanding of digital technologies and their application in improving manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive global strategy for deploying MES and Plant Maintenance solutions, aligning with the company's business objectives and digital transformation goals.
Business Stakeholder Partnership: Demonstrated record of building strong partnerships with business stakeholders and Centers of Excellence (CoE), aligning IT initiatives with business goals and driving organizational change.
Offshore Team Management: Experience managing offshore teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across different time zones and cultures.
Team Building: Skilled in building and leading new teams, recruiting talent, and developing skills to support evolving business needs.
Change Management: Partner with COE Manufacturing in change management activities, ensuring the adoption of new systems and processes by training staff, warranting high-quality standards in user documentation, and providing ongoing support.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior management effectively, facilitating clear and productive discussions.
Program Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of MES and Plant Maintenance projects across all global manufacturing sites, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Large-Scale Project Leadership: Proven experience managing large, complex projects involving both external partners and internal resources, from inception through to successful implementation.
Financial Oversight: Strong understanding of project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
Vendor Management: Select and manage relationships with software vendors and implementation partners to ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in digital manufacturing, evaluating and implementing innovative solutions that can enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness.
Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all digital manufacturing initiatives comply with relevant industry standards, data security policies, and best practices. Become an advocate of the core model.
Support experience: Capability to lead the ongoing support and maintenance of implemented systems, ensuring their reliability and effectiveness over time.
Technical Proficiency:
MES and Plant Maintenance Systems: Deep knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems and Plant Maintenance solutions, with experience in integrating quality processes into MES and linking MES with SAP Quality Management to ensure seamless data flow and process optimization.
SCADA and PLC Integrations: Proficient in supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and programmable logic controllers (PLC), with the ability to integrate these technologies with MES for enhanced operational control and data collection.
Quality Management: Understanding quality management principles and their application within MES to support continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards.
KPIs and Dashboards: Expertise in developing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor manufacturing performance, identify trends, and drive decision-making.
OT and infrastructure: good understanding of OT security, IoT, Industry 4.0, servers, OT networks, and smart factory technologies.
Nice to have
Machine Learning and Predictive Maintenance: Experience in applying machine learning algorithms and predictive maintenance models to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime, enhancing overall plant efficiency.
Sustainability Systems Integration: Knowledge of integrating MES with sustainability systems to support environmental compliance and promote sustainable manufacturing practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management within the manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing MES and/or Plant Maintenance implementations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
