Senior Software Engineer:

Build software platform to support our community team. Analyze, design, program, test, document, and implement new software product features. Duties include:

1. Design and develop an extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable, and distributed software system that uses technologies, including Java/J2EE, Spring, and AWS;
2. Gather software system and business requirements from product management stakeholders;
3. Drive cross functional software system development efforts in collaboration with other teams;
4. Shape software system development processes to promote a high-quality output while continuing to iterate quickly;
5. Review software system deliverables for accuracy, quality, performance, and completeness;
6. Create software architecture and system design documents, project timelines, and user stories;
7. Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of junior team members.

May telecommute from any US location.

Minimum Requirements:

A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information & Communication Technology, or a related field plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience in a software development-related occupation. Experience may have been gained before or after Master’s degree.

In the alternative, employer will accept Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information & Communication Technology, or a related field followed by 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience in a software development-related occupation.

Experience must include the following, which may have been gained concurrently:

1) 3 years of experience designing and developing software applications;
2) 3 years of experience developing in Java, Web Services (SOAP and REST), SQL, Javascript, NodeJs, JSON, and React;
3) 3 years of experience using Jenkins, Postman, Docker, AWS Cloud Solutions, Maven, Spring Boot, Kafka, and GIT;
4) 3 years of experience working with relational databases, including MySQL and Postgres;
5) 3 years of experience optimizing and refactoring services to improve reliability, scalability, and security;
6) 2 years of experience working with an automated testing framework, including Junit, SonarQube, and Mockito;
7) 2 years of experience architecting, writing, reviewing, and documenting code using MVC and cloud architectures;
8) 2 years of experience creating detailed monitoring and alerting relating to technical and product needs using monitoring tools, including Splunk, SignalFX, Sentry, or the equivalent.
