Duties: Maintain current, develop new and specialty concrete mix designs for the company. Monitor and optimize current mixes for quality, cost, and providing the best product to our customers of Ready-Mix Concrete. Manage and oversee a team of Concrete Field and Lab Technicians. Review of finite element models for structural design. Review all field and lab test results, identify any deficiencies, and review report details. Identify trends and areas of improvement by either adjusting mixers or processes. Elaboration of detailed calculation records and analysis to identify trends. Elaboration of Auto Cad drawings for future precast concrete manufacturing. Detailed revision of construction specifications from drawings and specification manuals from clients and engineers to provide concrete within specifications for calculating dosage amounts as required for admixtures on a project-by-project basis. Investigate and research contractor or customer concerns and provide a determination and options to resolve those concerns. Promote best practices for delivering, pumping, placing, finishing, and curing of concrete. Coordinate and communicate with concrete dispatch and technicians on any mix changes. Review and submit mix designs to clients as requested using design mix and submittal software. Maintain compliance with project specifications. Oversee laboratory yearly equipment verifications. Mix designs for concretes like: regular concrete, concrete for pavements, high strength concrete, high-performance fiber reinforced concrete (HPFRC), pervious concrete, cellular concrete, etc. Construction of finite element models in different software like RC Building, ETABS and SAP 2000.

Requires: Bachelors in Civil Engineering or equivalent & 4 yrs’ experience in structural design and ability in proportioning concrete mixes for different purposes. Experience using programs like Excel, Auto Cad, etc. MS Office, including advanced Macros for Excel and advanced tools. Interpersonal skills with emphasis on building productive and positive relationships with customers, architects, and structural designers. Familiar with ACI, ASTM, and AASHTO Standards as they apply to concrete. Must possess current ACI Concrete Lab and Field Grade I Technicians Certification.
