Solve complex business problems. Work through and provide data-driven insights in elasticity modeling, price optimization, time series analysis, and What-if/Scenario planning. Summarize technical details to a non-technical audience. Present work to peers and leadership. Support ongoing and ad-hoc analytical projects based on Staples strategic priorities. Maintain and expand codebase for Revenue Management’s proprietary applications (Pricing Engine and related models). Conduct unit tests on all code contributions. Optimize rules-based model within core Pricing Engine. Mentor junior level data scientists on team. Position is fixed based in Framingham, MA office; however, telecommuting from a home office location two (2) days per week is allowed.
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm.
Two (2) years of experience in a data analytics, data science, or business intelligence role. Experience must include:

Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- SQL, Snowflake, Teradata, or Oracle
- Programming language: Python, R, Java/Javascript, or C/C++
- Experience with SQL querying (optimization of run time, indexing, and window functions)

One (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Segmentation analysis (K-Means, Hierarchical, PCA, and Forest)
- Experience in collaborative coding environment with Git technology
- Using a common visualization tool including seaborn, matplotlib, Tableau, or PowerBI to demonstrate underlying patterns in data
- Implementing caching technique in data pipeline to improve efficiency and reduce runtime/API call cost
- Contemporary ML models (Regression, A/B Testing, Clustering, Classification, and NLP) and packages (Sci-kit learn)
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or a directly related field
