Looking for a Senior Superintendent with a proven track record for project management in Heavy Civil Development including Site Preparation, Reclamation, Excavation, Utilities. This position will work with a variety of clients and prepare scopes schedules, and budgets. Opportunity with a fast-paced environment with a dynamic, growing company. This position will normally have 3 to 4 Foreman on multiple projects reporting to him/her.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY


Responsible for multiple crews and multiple jobs simultaneously (Most work is within a 75-mile radius of Columbia, SC)



  • Build a team atmosphere to allow all foremen, superintendents, and operators to thrive and succeed.

  • Manage several foreman / lead men on separate projects


    • Schedule equipment delivery

    • Schedule meetings with engineers and owners

    • Maintain all erosion control inspections and ensure compliance

    • Communicate scope, details, and schedule with the foreman

    • Practice and promote workplace safety including assisting in safety meetings

    • Random on-site safety inspections

    • Manage production requirements as set forth in the project schedules

    • Assist in training new hires and existing personnel

    • Communicate project billing information on pay applications to the office for timely invoicing

    • Review all time sheets for accuracy and communicate information to the office for payroll

    • Maintain a project file of fuel sheets, load count sheets, hourly work, change order requests, and all applicable materials lists

    • Schedule and order necessary construction materials

    • Assist management in estimating projects.

    • Assist management in business development with various clients through business meetings and events.


  • Assist management in estimating projects.

  • Assist management in business development with various mining clients, DOT clients, private developers and various other clients through business meetings and events.

  • Assist management in the hiring process for various positions, including screening, interviewing and observations.

  • Maintain OSHA compliance on projects


THE QUALIFIED CANDIDATE NEEDS THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE


CANDIDATES NEED BACKGROUND IN HEAVY CIVIL SITE WORK INCLUDING OPERATION OF VARIOUS TYPES OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT


Knowledge



  • Quality control / quality assurance programs as they pertain to specific projects

  • Best practices for constructing heavy civil projects: commercial, large residential (sub-divisions), and retail

  • Equipment safety

  • OSHA regulations

  • Site specific hazards and conditions

  • General site preparation techniques and procedures

  • Machine control and guidance systems

  • Site preparation surveying and layout

  • Participate in routine maintenance when necessary

  • Knowledge of operation of front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other heavy equipment

  • Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures


Experience


Minimum of 3 years supervising foreman in Heavy Civil Construction (Dirt Work)
