Debt Recovery Associate Attorney

Location: Colorado (Bar Admission Required)
Job Type: Full-Time

Please note that this job will be 100% onsite for the first year, and can then move to a 100% remote role.


Position Overview

We are seeking a Debt Recovery Associate Attorney to join a high-performing legal team focused on collections within covenant-controlled communities (HOAs, condominiums, townhomes, and single-family homes). This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and brings strong litigation and case management experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume caseload of approximately 700 active collection matters
  • Evaluate delinquencies and oversee case intake from initiation through resolution
  • Handle pre- and post-trial negotiations, including alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
  • Draft, review, and approve pleadings across county, district, and bankruptcy courts
  • Execute post-judgment remedies, including garnishments, interrogatories, stipulations, and judicial foreclosures
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, and appeals as needed
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategy and filings
  • Monitor and assess bankruptcy filings and foreclosure proceedings
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and outcomes
  • Supervise and support legal staff to ensure efficient workflow and case progression
  • Maintain accurate, timely reporting and case documentation
  • Contribute to business development efforts as needed


Qualifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in debt recovery, legal collections, or related litigation
  • Strong working knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
