Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations to identify clients' presenting concerns and develop tailored treatment plans that align with their specific goals.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, families, and groups, with a focus on fostering resilience and coping strategies.
- Employ a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused approaches, ensuring each intervention is personalized.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to provide holistic and coordinated care for clients in need.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements, ensuring care continuity and accountability.
- Stay abreast of advancements in mental health research and practice by attending workshops and engaging in professional development opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will involve supporting a diverse range of clients facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. You will have the opportunity to specialize in specific areas, such as trauma-informed care or substance abuse counseling, allowing you to make a profound impact on the lives of individuals and families in our community.
Qualifications
- A Masters or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
- Possession of active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) within the state of Illinois.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience providing counseling services, preferably in clinical or outpatient settings, is essential.
- Strong understanding of ethical guidelines and legal regulations governing the counseling profession.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for the establishment of meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to function effectively within a team context and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and relevant counseling software tools.
Preferred Experience
- Specialization in trauma, substance abuse, family therapy, or couples counseling is highly desirable, as this will enhance your ability to connect with and support a broader client population.
- Previous experience working in an outpatient setting will be an advantage for understanding the dynamics of ongoing therapy.
