CNC Laser Operator 1st Shift

We are seeking an experienced CNC Laser Operator to join an industrial metal fabrication operation in Conroe, TX.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC laser cutting equipment used to cut sheet metal, plate, and structural components. This individual should be comfortable reading blueprints, selecting and loading material, making machine adjustments, monitoring cutting operations, and inspecting finished parts for accuracy and quality.

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment according to production requirements.

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, work orders, and cut specifications(link removed)>

• Load and unload sheet metal and plate onto the laser cutting machine.

• Verify the correct material type, thickness, dimensions, and job specifications before beginning production.

• Select and load the appropriate CNC program for each job.

• Make machine adjustments to maintain proper cutting quality and dimensional accuracy.

• Monitor cutting operations and identify issues with cut quality, material, tooling, or machine performance.

• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet blueprint and dimensional requirements.

• Use tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment as required.

• Remove completed parts and separate usable components from scrap material.

• Perform basic troubleshooting and make adjustments when cutting problems occur.

• Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

• Maintain accurate production counts and required documentation.

• Safely operate material-handling equipment as needed.

• Maintain a clean and organized machine and production area.

• Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.

• Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment required.

• Experience working in metal fabrication, structural steel, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred.

• CNC laser setup experience preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.

• Understanding of different metal types, material thicknesses, and cutting requirements.

• Ability to accurately use tape measures and precision measuring equipment.

• Experience loading, positioning, and handling sheet metal and plate.

• Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic laser cutting and quality issues.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and maintain production requirements.

• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus.

• Ability to safely work around large sheets, plate, machinery, and industrial fabrication equipment.

Overtime may be available on Fridays and/or based on production requirements.

The ideal candidate has previous experience operating a CNC laser in a metal fabrication environment and understands the entire cutting process-from reviewing the blueprint and selecting the correct material to loading the program, monitoring the cut, and inspecting the finished product.
