Job Description:
Preparation of financial reconciliations, analysis, construction work-in-progress ledger, year- end closing entries and process.
Preparation and presentation of the Turnpike Systems financial information as required by GAAP.
Review and interpret all new accounting pronouncements and literature to determine their effect on the Turnpikes accounting policies and procedures.
Coordinate the implementation of updates to the Turnpikes accounting policies and procedures as necessary.
Assist with the Turnpikes year-end financial reporting closing processes.
Prepare adjusting ledger entries to properly state the real and nominal accounts.
Research capital project expenses and reclassify them as fixed assets.
Serve as backup reviewer for SunPass weekly revenue settlement process.
These processes include, but are not limited to, the preparation of necessary accrual, adjusting and/or correcting entries, analyzing pre-closing trial balances for accuracy and appropriateness, and ensuring all Department closing requirements are met in a timely manner.
Skills:
Strong Excel Skills and Knowledge of Accounting.
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of engineers, attorneys, and consultants in accomplishing financial accounting goals (link removed)>Tracking other general consultant charges to provide for accurate project cost reporting.
Prepare financial statements, and statistical data.
Research capital project expenses and reclassify them as fixed assets.
