About the role:

We have partnered with a firm in Australia who are business accountants and advisory experts who does authentic approach to relationships - both personally and professionally.

The purpose of the role is to take full responsibility for managing your allocated portfolio of clients in respect to their Accounting, Tax and Business Advisory needs. You will be one of the critical support within the organization.

The role involves preparing jobs from start to finish, ready for review by senior staff or the partner.

As a Tax Manager, you will have a high level of technical competence and an understanding that work needs to be completed accurately, efficiently and on time. You will also be able demonstrate all aspects of continuous improvement, both technically and professionally.

What youll be working on

GENERAL

Complying with all internal work procedures and systems including completion of forms, checklists, client registers and timesheets, as required.

Assisting with the management of weekly and/or monthly workflow to ensure individual and firm fee targets can be achieved. This will include budgeting of the current and following months personal workflow and fees so as to identify any capacity in work and any likely or potential shortfall on monthly budgeted fees. Any likely shortfall in fees or workflow should be advised to the Partner as soon as practical so that additional work can be arranged in a timely manner. It is critical that workflow is continually planned ahead.

Assisting with timely billing process for clients you have managed and worked on.

Manage all work delegated and/or in progress so that all client work is completed in a timely manner and to ensure that the client is fully aware of any additional information required by us in order to complete their work in a timely manner.

Maintaining professional knowledge by completing 3 to 4 hours each month of education and training. This should be a combination of traditional tax and accounting knowledge, and the latest accounting software knowledge.

ACCOUNTING, TAX & BUSINESS SERVICES

The level and type of work will vary depending on personal competencies and experience of each employee which includes but not limited to:

Preparation of income tax returns or fringe benefits tax returns, financial statements and business and

installment activity statements;

Reviewing, amending or processing of client XERO files, Excel Worksheets or any other software, as may

be required from time to time;

Setting up of Xero files.

Drafting and sending emails to clients, as required, after firstly confirming accuracy of any significant technical advice with the Partner.

Seeking assistance on technical matters from Partner or, if required, from external sources such as the Knowledge Shop, NTAA or the Australian Tax Office.

The role does require a high level of autonomy, it is expected that you should be able to complete all tasks without failure and at a position where no errors or adjustments need to be made.

ADMINISTRATION

Prepare reports (e.g. WIP, completed works) as required by the Partner.

Adhere to all standard reporting requirements and deadlines, and to undertake the various administrative functions that are required.

What we're looking for

With CPA

Preferably with experience in Australian tax

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles, with demonstrated capability in accounting principles and practices.

Strong Analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.

Experience using accounting software such as Xero is preferred.

Adept in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Proficiency in written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to engage in professional interactions with clients and colleagues.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.

Capacity to handle deadlines, prioritize projects, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced professional setting.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Proven ability to solve problems and use good judgment when addressing discrepancies and problems pertaining to accounting.

Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and developing a team of tax professionals.

Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and learn new concepts and technologies as required.
