What Youll Do
As an Art Teacher at Veritas Prep youll implement an art curriculum for grades 5 through 8 that will inspire students love and appreciation of art. Youll plan and deliver high-quality at instruction daily and collaborate with a growing team of enrichment teachers to ensure students have access to engaging enrichment classes that enhance their education.
Youll also:
- Collaborate with a growing team of enrichment teachers to ensure students receive high-quality instruction
- Evaluate each scholar's growth and give feedback
- Participate actively in weekly professional development
- Participate in weekly or bi-weekly coaching meetings, incorporating feedback into daily teaching and planning practices
- Communicate proactively with families and build strong, trusting relationships
- Participate actively in weekly planning meetings with fellow enrichment teachers to build a positive culture in your classrooms
- Teach students valuable social-emotional skills and embed this skill-building into your lessons and daily interactions
- Engage in learning about racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion in education
- Work as a team with teachers, staff, and leaders to support students, families, and each other
Requirements
What Youll Need (Qualifications)
- An unwavering belief that all students can achieve amazing things
- A passion for continuous growth as an educator
- A dedication to fighting racism in our educational institutions and in daily life and knowledge of the history of race and racism, as well as the systems of oppression our students face
- One to two years of teaching experience (preferred)
- Bachelors degree
- Have or be eligible for a MA teaching license in Visual Art (PK-8 or 5-12)
- Current authorization to work in the United States a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment

Veritas Prep is a public, tuition-free school in Springfield that prepares students in grades 5-12 to compete, achieve, and succeed in college and beyond! Veritas Prep accelerates every students path to college and career by helping students set a strong academic foundation in middle school and guaranteeing access to college classes and college prep support in our wall-to-wall Early College high school.
