Assembly Shop Technician

Job Description: This position is for an experienced Electro/Mechanical Assembly Technician for assembling automation equipment and systems that meet our customers’ requirements.

Technical Requirements:
- Must have 3 - 5 years of automation assembly experience.
- Good personable skills when dealing with co-workers and customers.
- Leadership and systematic planning skills (is a PLUS)
- Good troubleshooting skills a must.
- Must perform quality workmanship at all times.
- Must be organized and familiar with working in a professional high paced environment.
- Must be familiar with quality precision assembly techniques
- Must be able to use accurate measuring tools such as calipers, gauge blocks, gauge pins, micrometer, scale, height gauge, etc.
- Able to perform mechanical assembling using CAD generated assembly drawings and BOM’s.
- Experienced in reading detailed part drawings.
- Experienced in using pneumatic schematics for assembling automation machinery.
- Experienced with installing and wiring electrical components using Electrical diagrams and I/O list
- Experienced with proper drilling and tapping techniques.
- Experienced with proper hardware selection and installation procedures
- Capable of properly using hand and power tools
- Using a computer to look up job related information on different applications. Solid Works, Excel, Word, Web, etc.
- PLC changes and vision system adjustments experience (is a PLUS)
Required Duties and Task (not limited to)
- Assist co-workers with problem solving and assembly issues
- Assist engineering with proto-type work and testing theories
- Project Team leader capable of managing assembly projects and leading a small team (is a PLUS), but required for the top end of hourly pay.
- Perform mechanical assembly of automation machinery using CAD generated assembly drawings, BOM’s, PO’s, verbal and written instructions etc.
- Perform drilling and tapping using a mag-drill and by hand.
- Routing and harnessing of pneumatic tubing and electrical wiring so that no damage occurs during motion.
- Labeling pneumatic tubing electrical wiring per schematics, diagrams and I/O list
- Identify and resolve problems that impede the timely set-up and assembly of machinery
- Fluent in problem solving issues related to assembling and operating automation machinery.
- Fluent in safely starting up and troubleshooting new machinery
- Experienced with debugging problems with individual stations and system issues.
- Experience with optimizing automation machinery
- Making machine station adjustments to operate properly
- Maintain assembly shop documentation
- Perform service calls and new machine install
