The Board Services Department is looking for a highly organized individual with demonstrated experience supporting a Board of Directors, including communications and meetings. Enjoy a flexible telecommuting schedule as you ensure operational compliance with directives and mandates; assist with developing and implementing the organizations governance framework for records and information management across the organization and:

  • Supervise and lead assigned staff; determine and participate in the process for achieving team goals consistently with mandated board and committee meeting activities; interpret government mandates, Brown Act. Public Records Act and requirements, and Political Reform Acts; ensure alignment of work efforts with organizational priorities, process, regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Coach teams and foster competencies, accountability, development, diversity, inclusion, learning, customer focus, and productive work environment; recognize and reward achievements and completes corrective actions.
  • Attend board meetings, prepare and distribute board meeting agendas and packets; take detailed board meeting minutes and notes; represent the organization and deliver presentations; participate in the formulation and communication of goals and objectives; resolve issues and challenges; participate in process designing, redesigning and integration of operational practices, benchmarks, data, budget, expenses, metrics and resources.
  • Shape, articulate and advance the organization-wide Records and Information Management vision, strategy, policies and goals through effective management of resources, customer relationships, risk mitigation and performance measures; oversee the Information Governance requirements of the Enterprise Content Management System.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of communication and training programs to promote organizational adherence to Board & Committee meeting process and procedures, Statement of Economic Interest filings and records and information management practices, including communicating policies, practices and changes to the Records and Information Management Program.

Requirements

Experience & Education:

  • Graduation from a college or university with a major in business, management or public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of experience in preparing meeting agendas, minutes, and interpreting regulations, including supporting records management program in a public agency, of which three years were in a supervisory capacity.
  • Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in business, management, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Certification as Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), Master Municipal Clerk (MMC), Certified Records Manager (CRM) and/or Notary Public.

The starting hiring salary for this position is $102,000.

The full salary range for this position is $75,035 - $120,055.
