Peachtree Special Risk Brokers, LLC, a subsidiary of Brown & Brown, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Assistant to join our team in our satellite office located in Carmel, Indiana. Brown & Brown, Inc. is one of the largest and most respected independent insurance intermediaries in the U.S. listed on the NYSE as BRO, and employs over 15,000 seasoned professionals. In this role, our team will rely on you to support the clerical, administrative process, and management of a Brokers book of business in our placement of difficult and/or complex Excess & Surplus (E&S) risks in various lines of coverage.

The successful candidate will possess a vibrant and energetic personality, excellent communication skills, great motivation, capacity to understand concepts and drive to succeed in a team environment. As an Assistant Broker, you will have the opportunity to grow your career with one of the largest independent wholesale insurance brokerages in the U.S. insurance industry, and work with industry leading Surplus Lines Carriers.


Assistant Broker duties include:

  • Assist the Broker in reviewing applications to determine placement of coverage
  • Assist the Broker with the placement of risks with various carriers
  • Ensures quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings and taxes processed within applicable state laws
  • Completes and files documentation
  • Collaborates with Broker with regards to coverages, changes in coverages, and perils
  • Services the designated book of business as it relates to marketing, administration, and sales
  • Maintains compliance with quality control guidelines
  • Multi-Tasking in a high paced environment
  • Ability to deal with high volume and high stress with a strong attention to detail
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma; college degree or equivalent preferred
  • Account management experience in retail, wholesale, or carrier preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, (e.g. Outlook and Excel)
  • Active state insurance license or the ability to obtain property & casualty insurance license within one (1) year of hire (expense paid for by company)
