MALKA Media is seeking a highly driven, hard working Assistant Video Editor / Media Manager to add to our team. We are a fast growing, bi-coastal team, working on amazing projects in film, commercial, and digital.
The ideal candidate must be somewhat familiar with both Mac and PC platforms, though will mostly work on a Mac. They must have a strong attention to detail, and be very neat, meticulously organized, and very tech-savvy.
You may be given some light Premiere video editing tasks as well, with the possibility for future advancement into a video editor role. However, your primary responsibility and an Assistant Video Editor will be organizing projects and making proxies, assisting editors and prepping their projects, technical troubleshooting across departments, managing data on our media server, and the archiving and recovery of projects and media files.
The Assistant Editor will be taught most of these processes by their peers/supervisors, so no prior knowledge is required, but any previous experience is a plus. Must have a strong desire to learn, the ability to understand complex ideas and workflows, and a hard work ethic.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of some experience with Adobe Premiere
- 3+ years of Mac OS experience (Windows Experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with the rest of the Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
- Experience organizing files and folders on Mac OS / Windows.
- Must be organized, and very tech-savvy

Requirements
The ideal candidate:
- Must be a fast learner
- Experience with shared media servers is a plus.
- Great attention to detail, and takes personal responsibility to troubleshoot and problem solve independently.
- Familiarity with file naming schemes and folder structures on Mac and PC platforms
- Video editing experience is a plus
- Desire to learn
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed
- Good work ethic
