Job Title: Associate Scientist - Virology
Job Type: Temporary (12 months)
Location: West Point, PA
Job Description:
Looking for an Associate Scientist to work on virus production and characterization for biologic and vaccine products. You will work with a team to produce and titer HIV stocks and plasmids to support early discovery programs.
Responsibilities:
Perform molecular biology and cell culture techniques
Produce and titer HIV stocks and plasmids according to the filed Outline of Production
Prepare and source reagents for virus production
Maintain virus stock/plasmid database
Document work clearly and communicate effectively with team members
Execute laboratory studies in a safe and efficient manner
Requirements:
BS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related science or equivalent directly-related experience
At least 1 year laboratory experience in virology, virus production, and BSL-2+ lab environment
Strong computer, scientific, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated, adaptable, and positive attitude
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
