Associate Underwriter
in our Broomfield, Colorado office.


What can you expect?


In the first 60 days you can expect to participate in a robust training program of on the job and computer-based training.
You will be joining a team of highly motivated and knowledgeable individuals.
Triage and prepare new business accounts for Underwriters.
Underwrite and price new and renewal business under guidance from an Underwriter.
Provide ongoing customer service and problem solving to our customers.

We will count on you to:


Support the teams goals for production by quoting renewals and triaging new business accounts.
Handles binder issues, follows up on underwriter quotes, distributes quote letters, and follows up on outstanding requests to support the underwriting process.
Underwrite and price accounts in accordance with ICATs underwriting standards.
Demonstrate proficient understanding of ICATs forms, endorsements, and rating methodology.
Reviews, sets up and issues policies and gathers information to support the preparation of the underwriting process.
Support the team during peak times through policy issuance, endorsement processing, and reviewing and approving inspection findings and recommendations.
Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers.


What you need to have:


BA degree in insurance, business, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 1 years of progressive underwriting support experience within commercial property and/or personal lines insurance or financial services industries or relevant education.
Analytical aptitude; critical thinking
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

2+ years of progressive underwriting support experience within commercial property
Knowledge of commercial property forms, pricing and rating methodology, modeling, and valuation tools.
Time management skills along with ability to work in a team environment.

#ICAT

The applicable base salary range for this role is $51,600 to $110,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
