The EE Engineering Project Manager applies expertise in technical project management to plan and manage the development and delivery of Electrical and Electronic subsystems and components. Manage technical feasibility assessment, planning, optimized design, cost, schedule, risk assessment/mitigation & project communication. Achieve quality & timely releases.

Expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy on projects, while contributing to the development of processes.

The EE project manager will be deeply engaged in the design & development engineering process and will manage projects from concept through to prototype validation and then the introduction to production. Utilize engineering background to understand the product requirements, technical risks, and validation strategy to define and accelerate the development process. Communicate and present project status, highlight schedule risks, and develop recovery plans in the event of project slip.

On a daily basis, interface with cross-function teams System, Requirements, design, controls, manufacturing, test, quality, suppliers to define and drive the development of new product projects.

Planning & Monitoring

  • Establish and manage programs baseline, scheduling, critical path, and technology risks in EE subsystems and components including interfaces.
  • EE subsystems and components including Inverters, Control boards / ECUs, Interconnects, Connection systems, Traction motors, Actuator Motors, TMR Sensors, Temp Sensors, HV and LV Harnesses, Cooling pumps.
  • Interface and manage the integration of EE subsystems and components with EDUs and Electrified driveline beam axles.
  • Identify tactical (exercise operational excellence) and creative ways to overcome obstacles while meeting deadlines despite setbacks.
  • Conduct planning and execution/support of new product build.

Process

  • Follow ASPICE processes in project management: MAN.3 in creating and maintaining project management plans, ACQ.4 process for supplier monitoring, SUP.9 Problem resolution, SUP.8 Configuration management, and SUP.10 Change request management.
  • Stakeholder communication & Reporting
  • Cross-functionally communicates key development updates, risks, and timelines on projects as well as presenting to Management team on a weekly basis Create summaries routinely with clear priorities and comprehensive, time-bound plans.
  • Simplify complexity, create summaries with metrics for regular reporting of project status to the management team.
  • Dynamically manage customer & system requirements for content and timing aligning with & managing internal capabilities, negotiating and clarifying requirements.
  • Review and plan, set implementation and defect resolution priorities, manage release activities, incorporate ASPICE activities into project plans.

Problem Solving

  • Manage, track, and drive to resolution project EE and interface issues, following 8D methodologies

Quality

  • Follow quality checklists in ensuring quality, agreements, and releasing EE subsystems and components.
  • Plan and conduct/support quality gate reviews.
  • Ensure that development, validation, and delivery are according to ISO26262 and ASPICE process guidelines.
