Job Description: As an Electronics Designer, you will be responsible for designing, developing & building electronic systems for products being developed by Altair for the Indian Defence Forces. You will get the opportunity to work on absolutely cutting products and with a world class team in domains spanning Anti Submarine Warfare, Underwater Acoustics, GPS denied Navigation Systems, Autonomous Aerial & Underwater Platforms, Combat Aircraft, etc. You will work closely with the systems engineering team to translate system requirements into robust electronic designs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Responsibilities: Electronic Circuit Design: Design analog and digital electronic circuits for sensor interfaces, signal processing, and timing synchronization. Select appropriate components, including integrated circuits, sensors, amplifiers, and filters, considering. performance specifications, cost, and availability. Utilize CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad) for schematic capture and PCB layout. PCB Layout and Prototyping: Develop PCB layouts for electronic circuits, adhering to design rules, signal integrity requirements, and EMI/EMC considerations. Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to produce prototype boards for testing and validation. Perform circuit debugging and troubleshooting to identify and resolve hardware issues. Firmware Development Support: Collaborate with firmware engineers to define communication protocols, interface requirements, and hardware abstraction layers. Provide input for firmware development, including I/O configuration, register mapping, and device initialization. Testing and Validation: Develop test plans and procedures for verifying electronic hardware functionality, performance, and compliance with specifications. Conduct laboratory testing and characterization of electronic components and subsystems, analyzing test results and providing feedback for design improvements. Documentation and Compliance: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including schematics, PCB layout files, bill of materials (BOM), and design verification reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees (Master's or Doctoral degrees) preferred. Proven experience (5+ years) in electronic circuit design and PCB layout, preferably in a hardware design role. Proficiency in CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad). Strong understanding of Multi-Sensor Fusion Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles, including signal conditioning, filtering, and noise reduction techniques. Familiarity with microcontroller/microprocessor-based systems and embedded firmware development. Experience with laboratory equipment for electronics testing and measurement (e.g., oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers).
