job summary:

The IT Solutions Consultant proactively supports the sales opportunities for IaaS, (Infrastructure as a Service,) and Core hosting services solutions pursued by our client.. The position must work closely with the sales team and clients to meet their functional and technical computing needs for a stable and robust computing infrastructure. The Solutions Consultant will propose and implement system solutions based on client requirements, costs, and necessary integration with existing applications, infrastructure, systems, or platforms, while keeping up with industry trends. In addition, the position is also essential to support new and existing clients' environments relating to system design, configuration, performance and ongoing support.



ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:


Proactively identify IT solutions needs for the client and recommend innovative strategies to achieve their technology goals.


Architect highly complex server, storage, and networking solutions in a virtualized environment, logical segmentation for security and managed service's needs.


Monitor and participate with Management Team in the overall long-term technology investment strategy, ensuring that the platforms deployed are balanced between growth needs, flexibility, and budget considerations.


Prepare and deliver solutions, diagrams and analysis based customer requests, including presentations and demonstrations to customers with sales staff.


Assist Product Management in establishing appropriate shared services pricing based on requirements, specs, and utilization.


Works with sales and project management teams to drive the pre-sales phase by introducing the products and services, including product/environment demonstrations.


Able to demonstrate functionality, system architecture, monitoring, reporting and overall managed services by interfacing with prospective and current customers, manufacturers and partners (both at business and technical level).


Responsible for supporting the Sales Team in the assessment, design, planning & implementation of both distributed & centralized virtual and physical IT Infrastructures.


Ability to configure and administer LPARs running within the virtualize IBM Power Systems running AIX, VIOs and VMWare x86 Red Hat Linux, which includes production, HA failover and disaster recovery environments.


Oversees AIX, Keystone, DB2, Linux RedHat software installations and upgrades, system diagnostics and performance evaluations, including hardware maintenance and SAN storage (Pure/Rubrik) management within the Core hosting environments.


Ensures that all materials such as presentations and demonstrations are maintained up to date, including reporting, patching, compliance and backup/recovery needs.


Background in financial services knowledge to support and deliver secure, compliant and reliable hosting services to $1B-$5B credit unions and/or banks desired.


Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.


Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.


Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.


Perform other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


A technical or business degree or equivalent experience


At least 3 years' experience in Solutions Architecture / Cloud Pre- Sales / Consulting / Business Hands-on experience includes administering, designing, implementing and supporting VMware, PURE Storage and Rubrik backups desired.


Demonstrated experience configuring servers and storage while following OEM guidelines for best practices in deployment.


Knowledge in virtualization, VMWare x86, SD-WAN, Linux, AIX, and Cloud Architectures.


Ability to capture raw requirements and convert them into specifications as part of a server or storage configuration.


strong verbal and written communication, documentation and presentation skills, including use of Visio software for architecture diagrams


The ability to understand and identify complex business and IT requirements and translate into solutions and articulate business value for potential clients.


Moderate knowledge of networking, to ensure designed solutions will integrate correctly.


Knowledge of information security, NCUA compliance and audit standards and best practices for the availability, confidentiality and support of client data required.


Knowledge and experience with the general Sales & Technical practice Knowledge and experience in solution selling to financial or medium market institutions


Knowledge and experience in Business requirements gathering, articulating solution advantages, developing ROI & TCO measures, and design IT architecture
