In House Operations Manager Location: US-CA-Ontario Email this job to a friend

The In-House Operations Manager will lead the warehouse labor workforce, manage the branch warehouse, and ensure the timely delivery of show site deliverables to assigned trade shows and conventions. This role will also be responsible for controlling branch warehouse costs related to labor, supplies, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Labor Workforce and Warehouse Management - Supervise and lead all in-house operations of the branch including warehouse, shop, and graphics
- Manage warehouse supervisors, foremen, and leads to ensure tasks are completed timely and in line with Shepards policies, procedures, and best practices
- Train in-house operations personnel and ensure adherence to all safety rules and regulations
- Investigate and resolve warehouse, shop, and graphics associate complaints, disputes, and grievances
- Control labor cost budgets, forecast labor estimates, and manage warehouse labor force to meet the set budget
- Manage the hiring of laborers to ramp up production as needed; subsequently, oversee the process of laying off laborers as business needs change
- Partner with General Manager (GM) to establish short-and long-term in-house operational objectives for the branch
- Work with GM to update branch policies and SOPs while ensuring consistency and alignment with departmental and company requirements and standards
- Attend all budget planning meetings with GM to forecast labor and budget targets
- Oversee the process for equipment, inventory, supply ordering, and maintenance for the branch; ensure the timely purchase of new equipment and supplies to obtain the best pricing
- Communicate with VP, Quality Control and Planning on equipment needs
- Control swap lists
- Schedule rental and fleet equipment maintenance
- Manage departmental budget to control spending on equipment and supplies
- Manage inventory and supply counts monthly to allocate costs to specific job codes
- Ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations
General Administration - Meet weekly with supervisors, foreman, and leads to set labor schedule and direct workflow
- Conduct production planning meetings monthly to resolve continuing problems
- Manage and approve all timecards and time off requests
- Follow all payroll procedures and submit payroll timely and accurately; ensure all departments are coding timecards correctly and job costing is correct
- Oversee building maintenance
- Treat all internal and external customers with courtesy and respect, as outlined in our Blue Diamond Customer Service program
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements - Demonstrate Core Values of Caring, Commitment, Integrity, Spirit, Responsiveness, Inclusive, and Teamwork
- Ability to perform as a responsible ESOP owner by making daily decisions to benefit the client and the company
- 3+ years of experience supervising shipping and warehouse operations, preferably for a trade show general contractor
- Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and experience supervising union workers
- Proficiency in Windows-based Microsoft Office products and strong computer skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Bachelors Degree in related field; related experience may be substituted for formal education
