Core ICU RN with floats to PCU and occasionally Med/Surg. Assumes responsibility of critical care patients placed in the ICU and PCU departments.SHIFT: Day/Night rotation or straight nights. Every other weekend and holiday ICU: 15 Bed unit-N/P ratio 1:1 or 1:2 days and nights -RN s monitor and read rhythms-Day charge does not take patients, night charge takes light patient load if census below 6-Experience dealing with cardiologist and CT surgeons, must be a team player- PCU: 32 bed unit-N/P ratio 1:3 days and 1:4-5 nights-Day charge does not take patients, night charge takes light patient load
