NetX is looking for an experienced manager to lead our SysOps team. Were planning a SaaS product transition from a fairly monolithic hosted application to a more cloud native deployment. This role will partner with Development and Product to ensure that it is a smooth and careful transition. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Systems Engineer, knows how to code, and is familiar with modern systems concepts, tools, and design patterns. We would like to hire a leader with a track record of continuous improvement and dependable delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure 24x7 incident response, incident root cause analysis, post-mortems, and adherence to SLAs.
  • Deploy automation solutions to recurring problems/requests automate all the things.
  • Support our systems management toolchain. (Gitlab, Ansible, Docker, and others).
  • Define key operational metrics, develop reporting infrastructure and cadence, set targets, and continuously improve. Provide operational metrics weekly to Leadership.
  • Define and maintain requirements for monitoring/alerting/logging, triage and resolution.
  • Support a growing farm of nearly 200 production SaaS deployments (some deployed in AWS), including infrastructure, tools, configuration management, automation, Identity & Access Management.
  • Be a strong advocate for our customers, end users, and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Development and QA teams to ensure new services are supportable on day one.
  • Participate in design reviews.
  • Lead team meeting, approve change management requests, review pull requests.
  • Produce and maintain documentation and records relevant to the areas of responsibility.
  • Own long term strategy for Systems Operations.
  • Supervisory role that includes overseeing 3-4 employees

Requirements

  • Associates degree or its work experience equivalent
  • 3+ years as a manager of a technical team.
  • 3+ years as an individual contributor on an IT Operations or Engineering team where writing code was part of your role.
  • Must have experience with Linux, Ansible and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with automation, infrastructure as code, and configuration management,.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen; ability to set and manage a budget.
  • BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline strongly preferred.
  • Any previous knowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) products is highly desirable
  • Experience in working with graphics software such as Adobe Creative Suite series, multimedia software, or image and/or video transformation.

  • Operational management of any/all of Tomcat, Redis, MySQL, Solr
