Join Our Team as a Safety and Compliance Manager!

We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Compliance Manager to lead our company's efforts in establishing a culture of safety across all departments.

Position Overview:

As the Safety and Compliance Manager, you will take complete ownership of safety initiatives and lead the development and enforcement of safety rules and work practices. Your primary focus will be on our warehouse and transportation departments, where you will conduct regular training sessions and safety meetings. Additionally, you will play a vital role in our Ammonia PSM/RMP program team, ensuring critical functions related to the Ammonia system are properly addressed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct effective weekly/monthly meetings for PSM/RMP, FSMA/FSPCA PCQI.
  • Lead monthly meetings with the Safety Committee to address health and safety concerns.
  • Perform detailed monthly safety inspections of warehouse, trucks/trailers, office areas, and the facility surroundings.
  • Identify risks, develop corrective actions, and collaborate with Department Managers to ensure compliance.
  • Report and analyze incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports for Senior Management.
  • Research injury and claim trends, recommending corrective programs and alternative courses of action.
  • Interact with regulatory agency inspectors and handle property damage claims.
  • Coordinate safety education and training for all team members and facilitate new hire safety orientations.
  • Develop and lead a Safety Committee to enhance the safety program.
  • Monitor and update the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and assist with training.
  • Act as a safety liaison between team members, departments, and Management.
  • Ensure drivers are trained in our Smith System and maintain up-to-date DOT records.
  • Participate in required committees and teams, as requested.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and observation abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field preferred.
  • Valid qualification in occupational health and safety (OSHA 30 Certified, PCQI Certified).
