Responsibilities of the Marketing Technology Specialist:

This role is directly responsible for oversite, management, and maintenance of the marketing technology platforms (websites and SaaS) within the Marketing Department. Both marketing and technology expert, this cross-functional role is equally comfortable discussing marketing technology as well as the strategies and trends impacting their use. Acting as a strategic partner for our Regional Marketing Managers, this role will be required to help support individual community digital marketing strategies for both PPC and SEO. Must also have expert-level ability to manage development projects, connect technology with marketing to increase leads, develop automation, and create efficiencies for Marketing and Communications functions.

Website Management & Maintenance:

  • Interface with digital partners to ensure optimal performance of WordPress websites from a technical perspective, SEO and PPC accounts.
  • Manage lead and data processes, providing documentation for key stakeholders.
  • Perform website maintenance activities, troubleshooting of websites, improvements, functional optimizations, and development.
  • Make search optimization recommendations; execute accordingly.
  • Consistently test webpages across multiple browsers and email clients to ensure search optimization and functionality.
  • Manage and support website development projects as required; develop business requirements and training as needed.
  • Improve WordPress backend structure and implement CMS elements to allow for more streamlined website updates.
  • Oversee website security and stability; conduct updates as needed.
  • Conduct analysis of website and application requirements; update and alter application features to enhance performance.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming, understanding of WordPress CMS, and working knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3 to sites as needed.
  • Active contributor to web development best practices.
  • Work with Marketing Communications Specialist to develop personalized communications through dynamic content areas within our websites.
  • Marketing Platform Management & Maintenance:

    • Administrate, configure and serve as support for Discovery Senior Living's internal marketing technology platforms including HubSpot, Social Studio, BirdEye, and others as required.
    • Manage enhancement and data integration projects involving marketing platforms and data.
    • Monitor and maintain marketing data integrity between our marketing systems and CRM.
    • Understand business needs and translate the marketing vision and business requirements for new technology implementation.
    • Assess legacy and existing systems and processes to understand what needs to adapt to better fit our portfolio's needs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve successful adoption, engagement and utilization of enterprise marketing technologies.
    • Technical documentation of processes and features.
    • Train marketing team members on all platforms; serve as tier-1 support.
    • Subject matter expert, super-user and product advocate - actively participate in our platforms' user forums/obtain certifications as needed.
    • Work with BI data analysts to support reporting efforts as needed.

    Requirements of the Marketing Technology Specialist:

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, information technology or business preferred with a minimum of five years of proven marketing experience
    • Minimum five years digital marketing and web management experience including email, social, pay-per-click, SMS/MMS, and search engine optimization.
    • Minimum five years robust analysis and reporting experience
    • Minimum five years knowledge of Google Analytics, UTM tagging and campaign tracking tactics
    • Experience developing short and long-term marketing strategies.
    • Strong presentation skills, proficient with Microsoft Power Point and Excel
    • Experience with a variety of Marketing Automation systems including HubSpot & CRM
    • Capacity to function in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
    • Ability to follow and take direction and feedback
    • Ability to build relationships and articulate ideas well
    • Excellent grammar, editing, proofing and copywriting skills
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Attention to detail for precise analysis of data
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work with teams and collaborate
    • Time management and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
    • Previous experience with complex technology infrastructure projects is preferred
    • 2+ years of experience working with or in a technology focused team is preferred
